Up and Coming Workshops
Viny-Asana Clinic
4 x Wednesdays @ Yogarise Peckham
25 Jan / 1 Feb / 8 Feb / 15 Feb
6:15-7:30pm
Vinyasa has a tendency to move fast, and so sometimes, even after many years of practising, it is not entirely clear where you should be or what each pose should be doing.
Designed for those who have been practising vinyasa quite a while (but beginners also welcome!), over 4 weeks, we will break down the gambit of vinyasa poses so that you know the best way for you to do them, as every body and every bone structure is unique.
Week 1 will look at the poses of a vinyasa (down dog, up dog, chaturanga, the yoga vs the pilates plank, and forward folding).
Week 2 will look at standing postures (warriors, side angle poses, Trikonasana and standing balances).
Week 3 we'll get down on the floor to look at both the folds and the backbends.
Week 4 will look at inversions (the chilled ones and the safe ways in and out of some of the funkier ones) and arm balance technique.
You'll also have the opportunity to nominate a pose that foxes you!

Time is Relative: a Mandala, Qigong & Yin Workshop
@ Triyoga Shoreditch
7:30-9:30pm, Friday Jan 11th
A combination of vinyasa, qigong and yin to allow you to strengthen, ground, stretch and go inward.
Many of us have a tendency towards either speed or slowness, to action or paralysing inaction, and often we stick to what feels most familiar. In this workshop we will explore your reaction to different tempos, and how comfortable or challenging you might find them. We will move from the circular, constantly flowing patterns of mandala vinyasa into the slowness of qigong forms before reaching stillness through yin and restorative, ensuring you have plenty of time to explore each one.
This workshop is for all levels, but some prior vinyasa experience is advised.

Rocket & Restore
@ Triyoga Shoreditch
7:30-9:30pm, Friday June 21st
All the funky fun of Rocket followed by a flow into the earthiness of Qigong and a lie about on bolsters for some Yin and Restorative practice.
This workshop will be for all levels (except for complete beginners, who might have a panic). The Rocket sequence gives plenty of opportunity to play with inversions, arm balances and transitions for those who love to fly, but plenty of space to stabilise and ground for those who prefer their feet on the floor. After a flow, we will move into the descending energies of Qigong and Tai Chi forms, before a chunk of Yin and Restorative work to close.
You can book a space through the Triyoga website (link below) - £25 early bird (until 14th June) // £30 after!

Food & Yoga: from disordered eating to eating disorders
A Symposium
@ Triyoga Camden
Thurs 1st Nov 6-7:30pm
A discussion, debate and a chance to ask questions. I’ll be joining a panel of 4, including a clinical psychologist, addiction specialist and a chef - all of them also teachers or yoga practitioners to discuss the interplay of food, body image and disordered eating in modern yoga.
Come join the attempt to talk this through.
All proceeds go to the Embody Love Movement - book via Triyoga below.
Moving Yin: How Deep is Your Glove?
With Hannah Whittingham & Marcus Veda
@ Triyoga Shoreditch
Saturday May 12th
Join us for a yin practice with a difference, using repeated small movements and juicy holds to find new ways of accessing the fascial body. From the gross to the subtle. We go inside.
How Deep Is Your Glove?
So deep, it isn't a glove anymore. For a long time fascia was thought of as a series of glove-like body-bags that wrapped and contained your organs, your bones, your muscles, your cells, and formed a giant layer beneath your skin. Recent research however has shown that fascia goes much deeper. It is a web that permeates every part of your body, running through bones, joining up muscles, and in the nucleus of every cell. Far from being your container, fascia is your core, and all of your constituent bits are floating in it.
In this workshop we will explore yin the fascial way; deep. Prepare to reach the parts other yogas only talk about. Open to everybody.
