'Vidya'/Knowledge Weekend
Bonhays, Dorset
Next Weekend: 2-4th November, 2018
Join us in the countryside for a weekend immersion designed to deepen your practice, understand your unique anatomy, and explore vinyasa, qigong and yin.
We know a large number of you have wanted something to build knowledge without having to do a full teacher training, so we've put together a series of weekends, where we hope to offer something beyond a retreat, but without the stress of a teacher training. A space in-between.
This weekend will be held at back at the converted barns of Bonhays, Dorset surrounded by green, nature, and fresh air. All of our food will be organic, vegetarian (vegan on request), locally sourced and freshly prepared in our kitchen.
The weekend runs Friday evening to Sunday afternoon - the first class Friday is approx 5pm, and sessions will finish at approx 5pm on the Sundays, to give plenty of time to get home for a good night of sleep.

THE THEME
Develop a Practice for Life The practice we need changes on a daily basis. Whether it's through injury, stress, the state of your mind, the weather, the time of the month or the passing of time, things change, you change and your practice needs to be able to change with you. In this weekend, we will explore all of the options, from the sweaty, grunting, dynamic yoga, to the slow, nourishing and still. From the freedom to just move, through the individuality of alignment, to the importance of manipulating and moving the ECM - extra cellular matrix - also known as your fascia. As well as a close look at anatomy, we will also use elements of Ayurveda and traditional Chinese healing systems to begin the process of satya - honesty - with ourselves. The more we become aware, the more we can develop subtle changes in our practice, developing a toolkit to deal with all weathers, all moods and all aches and pains; one that can sustain you and serve you for the rest of your life. You will also have plenty of time to explore the outside world - roaming the land, taking long walks, or taking a dip in the conservatory's indoor pool. Prices include all classes, accommodation, and all meals and plentiful fruit, tea and snacks throughout. These are small retreats, with a max of 8 people in order for us to give you maximum attention - ALL LEVELS are welcome. This is a chance for experienced practitioners to finesse, troubleshoot and go deeper, and for newer practitioners to learn what they should be doing, how and why on earth they would want to get there. |
