Beginner Inversions Workshop @ Yogarise, Peckham Sunday 4th June 2-4pm
Upside-down can be scary, it can be disorienting, but it can also be a lot of fun.
Taking the fear out of your phobias, this workshop will start with the foundations of upside-downness, getting over the 'abyss' behind you, learning where to put your hips, your elbows, your bandhas, and, most importantly your breath. We'll cover a variety of postures from bakasana (crow pose) through sirsasana (head-stands) and various arm balance variations, learning how to get in and, more importantly, get out.
Multiple options will be given – strengthening preparatory exercises for those still newer to the practice, and more advanced variations for those regular practitioners who want to play. So that whether you're in your element wrong side up, or prefer your feet solidly on the ground, you can start to access the huge benefits inversions can bring.
We all fly, we all fall. Sometimes it's pretty, a lot of it will be ugly. It's all yoga. For your own sakes, leave your Instagram at home.
